They do a polar express themed event one weekend a year around Christmas. It is a nice thing to do with kids. No cost, but they accept donations.
Nifty and random historical pieces from around the area. Fun facts and random knowledge. A great place to calmly wander and explore. Looking forward to seeing what else goes on display in the future.
Decided to stop by on our way home from the beach and are so happy we did! The museum is very clean, quiet and had some great information and exhibits. They were also showcasing a local artist's work in one of the rooms which was an added bonus. We learned a lot and felt it was a great way to spend an hour out of our afternoon. Because of the generosity of the donors, admission is free for everyone. You really have nothing to lose by dropping by and learning a little bit about Jacksonville Beach!
Wonderful info. Great place
A wonderful place to learn about the history of our beaches. Included in the main exhibit is information about Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach as well as the town of Mayport. The staff is always courteous and helpful.
