However, no work had been completed, aside from Kelly's strenuous task of harassing our insurance company for updates on how much they were going to payout, but they are currently trying to bill us $1,000.00 for Kelly's time.
If you are looking for a roofing company- there are plenty of good roofing companies in North East Florida, 10/10 do NOT recommend North Florida Roofing.
Not impressed. Work was scheduled for this morning at "10:00ish." They no showed. I called the sales consultant to find out if they are still coming but he didn't return my call. I called the main number and was told they'd contact the sales consultant to find out what's going on. I haven't heard back. It's now 3:25. I waited around all day for nothing.
North Florida Roofing provided me with a great roofing experience from start to finish!! My roof looks excellent, there was a slight issue with my sky lights after the install and they sent a team out immediately to fix it. I was guaranteed the entire way through that i would be satisfied and i certainly was! I would certainly recommend them if youre looking for a reliable and honest company to do business with.
When I contact Kelly to let her know we would not need their services any longer we were going with a different company-one who was much more professional- that is when she informed me that we had been manipulated into a contract with them. When my husband called to speak to Kelly while I was at work, she explained that- "how else would they get work if they gave free estimates?"
One star for effort.
What we signed was, instead, a CONTRACT stating that we were contracting North Florida Roofing to do the whole job and that they would send US the estimate AFTER WORK IS COMPLETE. They would see how much the insurance paid out, THEN tell us how much the roof was going to be.
Essentially, they manipulated and took advantage of us because we had never filed an insurance claim before or ever dealt with any sort of construction company/estimates.
I called and told Kelly specifically that we were filing our first ever home owners’ insurance claim. We were newlywed, bought our first home two weeks prior to Hurricane Irma, and filing a claim before ever even being able to live in our new home. When I spoke with her our conversation consisted of me explicitly stating that we were first time home owners making our first claim and that we were calling around to get estimates and wanted to know how much North Florida Roofing charged. She stated that "if anyone is asking for money from you for an estimate, go somewhere else because estimates are free." From there we scheduled a time to have one of their employees (Kevin) come out to give us an estimate.
When Kevin arrived, he was very friendly- sort of in a rush because his girlfriend had to drive him because his vehicle was not operable at the time, and handed my husband and I a folder with information about the roofing techniques and tools they use, and had us sign- what I thought was some sort of waiver allowing Kevin to evaluate the roof and took all our information so they could send us the estimate- wrong.
Rude, UNPROFESSIONAL, Disrepectful, this does not even describe the horrible attitude of this company and their joke for customer service. Did not honor a warranty and chose to act like I was making things up rather than be adults. You have plenty of other decent roofing companies out there, do yourself a favor and pick somebody else. Should be NEGATIVE STARS.
The only thing that is good about this company is they can put a roof on your house. If you are expecting good customer service or good coordination or follow-through, look for another company. They promised the roof construction would begin on a Friday. The dumpster was delivered on Thursday evening as expected. They couldn't get the permits on Friday so they scrapped starting and rescheduled for Monday (they day before a holiday) even though I suggested waiting until Wednesday. The dumpster company pulled the dumpster on Monday morning, breaking and scratching our concrete driveway, even though they were starting construction. It took US to notify the company that there was no dumpster, the crew started throwing stuff all over the yard until the new dumpster arrived (which further damaged our driveway). The roof was finished in a day, as promised. After the crew left, my husband walked around the house and found many nails and a broken beer bottle in the neighbor's yard. We informed the company and they said they would be out Wednesday to clean up, they weren't. We have dogs so this could have meant vet bills. We were promised that our satellite television would be back by Monday; nope, not until late Wednesday evening. My husband reported all of this to the company and we were promised a gift card for our troubles and that he would look over the driveway and see if there was anything they could do; well, I am still waiting for either to happen.
